It started the way it always does.

One tank. Then two. Then somehow the bedroom had a rack system and there were shrimp in places shrimp probably shouldn't be.

Fish & Fronds isn't a warehouse or a wholesaler. It's a passion project that got serious; run out of a dedicated home fishroom right here in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Every plant, every shrimp, every snail you see in our shop was raised in the tanks you see in our photos. We know where everything came from because we were there for all of it.

Why We Started Selling

Hobbyists get to a point where the tanks are thriving, the plants are growing faster than you can use them, and the shrimp colony is doing a little too well. You can either let things get out of hand or you can share what you've built with other people in the hobby.

We chose to share it.

What started as selling trimmings to locals turned into something we actually care about: getting quality, locally raised livestock and plants into the hands of hobbyists in the Tulsa area who deserve better than what the big box stores are offering.

What Makes Us Different

Everything is acclimated to Oklahoma tap water. We're not shipping in livestock from a facility across the country with completely different water parameters. What we raise lives in the same water that comes out of your tap; which means less stress on the animal and a smoother transition into your tank.

No middlemen. Ever. When you buy a shrimp from us you're buying a shrimp we hatched, raised, and cared for ourselves. When you buy a plant you're getting a trimming from one of our established tanks; not something that sat in a bag at a distributor for two weeks.

We actually use everything we sell. Our root tabs go in our own tanks. Our seeded filters come out of our own running systems. If we wouldn't put it in one of our setups; it doesn't end up in the shop.

Who We Are

Just a couple of hobbyists in Broken Arrow who got way too into this and decided to make something of it. We're not a corporation, and we're not trying to be. We're people who genuinely love this hobby and want to see it thrive in our local community.

Local Pickup & What to Expect

We're based in Broken Arrow and offer local pickup. When you come by you're welcome to see the setup firsthand; the tanks are right there, and we're happy to talk through anything you're curious about. We think that kind of transparency matters, and it's something you just don't get anywhere else.
